Bashir wins 97 percent of votes in Kassala State – preliminary results

Omar Hassan Al-Bashir won 97.3% of votes at 350 polling stations in Kassala State, according to the government-sponsored Sudanese Media Center. There are 454 polling stations in the state. The nearest competitor, Hatem Al Sir of the Democratic Unionist Party, won 1,5% of the votes.
