The government of Chad scheduled a meeting in Abeche, in the east of the country, with sheikhs from all 12 refugee camps in the area to exchange views concerning the difficulties they face on Monday, 10 December, Radio Dabanga has learned.
Abdullah Jumaa, sheikh of Djabal camp, told Radio Dabanga that international organizations, the UN High Commission for Refugees and the government of Sudan will attend the meeting.
He said that each camp will send five delegates, three men and two women each. A total of 35 people from seven camps have arrived in Abeche over the weekend, while the remaining 25 are expected to arrive on Monday evening.
Lastly, Jumaa stated that the sheikhs have no problem discussing all difficulties refugees are facing, provided that the topics of voluntary return and the Doha Document are not included.
