Darfuri refugees from Shousha camp for Sudanese refugees in southeast Tunisia continued their protest for the 15th consecutive day in front of the UNHCR office. The protesters are requesting UNHCR to resettle them in a third country.
Imad Mohammed Hassan Sagiroun, spokesperson of the refugees, told Radio Dabanga that the number of protesters reached (150), including women and children. The protesters are demanding to be moved to a third country as well as a review of the plan to integrate the refugees into Tunisian society.
The spokesman pointed out that the refugees are facing racism, beatings and insults in Tunisian society. He added that the Commission aims at integrating the refugees into the Tunisian labor market, but the refugees feel they will face more racism and humilitation.
