IDP camps' leaders from N Darfur boycott breakfast invitation
On Sunday Tijani Sese, President of Darfur Regional Authority in Khartoum, invited leaders from the Abu Shouk and Abuja camps from El-Fasher, North Darfur, for breakfast. Tijani Sese sends annual breakfast invitations to camps' leaders to celebrate Ramadan. Camps leaders announce they boycotted the invitation.
A camp's leader said Sese wants to organize a breakfast for all displaced persons from the Abu Shouk and Abuja camps, adding he payed camps' leaders 72 million Sudanese pounds to organize the breakfast. The leader strongly criticizes Sese saying the money collected on behalf of IDPs should be spent on people from Kassab and Fatta Barno camps, who currently do not have shelter, food nor medicine.
The camp's leader say they boycotted Sese's invitation because this is not the time for breakfasts and bribes. He added that those who attended it were representing themselves only and not the will and spirit of the displaced persons from the Abu Shouk and Abuja camps.
Zam Zam camp leaders denied receiving any invitation from Tijani Sese. They call the Darfur Regional Authority to address issues as security, food, health and education for displaced persons.
