Pro-government group steals 60 million SDP from Nyala businessman
Witnesses informed Radio Dabanga that an armed pro-government group robbed yesterday a petrol station owner in Nyala, South Darfur. They added the group was composed of four armed men, who were wearing military uniforms and driving a Land Cruiser holding a Dushka.
Onlookers said the pro-government group intercepted Abuzeid Ahmed, the owner of Al Karimt petrol station, located in Al Nahda district, Nyala. Ahmed was on his way to the bank, riding a rickshaw, to deposit money when the pro-government group forced him into their vehicle. They drove off to an area close to north Nyala, where they stole 60 million Sudanese pounds at gunpoint and then fled.
Nyala's commissioner, Abdel Rahman Rahmah, said in a press statement the incident was caused by anonymous figures. He also pointed out that this is the third incident related to petrol stations.
