Sudan government expects peace deal for Darfur by October

The chairman of the Sudanese government delegation to the Doha negotiations said that he expects to sign a final peace agreement for Darfur by the end of October. Dr. Amin Hassan Omar, the top negotiator and Minister of State for the Presidency, said that the end of October is the anticipated date for signing a final peace agreement for Darfur in Doha. On the other hand, he called on the Justice and Equality Movement to return to the negotiating table. The talks are expected to resume after Ramadan, according to a news conference held by the government delegation in Khartoum on Monday.
