El Fasher hospital runs out of medicine, food prices rise significantly

In another development in the city of El Fasher, residents are affected by high food prices. Prices of different types of grain reached 8 to 9 pounds per kilo while a kilo of lamb meat reached 20 pounds and beef 18 pounds. A woman in El Fasher told this to Radio Dabanga. Comparatively, in the southern city of Nyala, lamb meat is now at 16 pounds per kilo, a box of tomatoes is 60 pounds, potatoes are 2 pounds per kilo, and a sack of onions 160 pounds. In the town of Kutum, prices also rose with a sack of millet reaching 210 pounds, white corn 180 pounds, red corn 120 pounds, and jerrycans of oil are 95 pounds, according to traders.
